Ranavalona I had many different haircuts during her career. She became famous as a talented politician. Nevertheless, the sovereign of the Kingdom of Madagascar from 1828 to 1861 was especially known for her unusual looks and her delightful personality. Before her passing at age 73 she was repeatedly in the spotlight of tabloids because of her exceptionally hairstyles.
